Live Arts Miami drives public engagement, sparks dialogue, and inspired action around the most pressing issues and current events of our time. Our Spotlight initiative partners established and emerging performing artists whose work engages hot-button issues with local activists, organizers, and movement leaders working for change and reform on the ground. The result? Transformative shows and performances that cultivate curiosity, instigate changemaking, and unleash the wild power of the imagination to open minds and hearts. It’s a live arts spotlight on the pressing issues we face and the ways we can all promote change on and off the stage.

Supercharged by consciousness-raising educational activities, dialogues, and edifying exchanges with the Miami community, Spotlight performances and programs reflect the complex issues that shape our multifaceted, global, and rapidly changing world. Through their work and partnerships with the community, the artists of this initiative delve deep into the personal and the historical, offering potent critiques of injustice, radical visions of change, and fresh redefinitions of the performing arts themselves. In the process, they raise tough and thought-provoking questions that spark dialogue and debate, inspiring us to reflect, reassess, and reaffirm our own commitments to making change.
