Live Arts Miami proudly presents the highly anticipated performance of “Huang Yi & KUKA,” a groundbreaking work that fuses the precision of mechanical engineering with the artistry of modern dance. Created by acclaimed Taiwanese choreographer, dancer, and inventor Huang Yi, “Huang Yi & KUKA” is not just a dance performance; it is a poetic exploration of the relationship between humanity and technology.

Through a series of captivating vignettes, live dancers share the stage with KUKA, an industrial robot conceptualized and programmed by Huang Yi himself. The show, which has captivated audiences worldwide, brings together razor-sharp precision and stunning artistry, harmoniously weaving the realms of dance and robotics into a single, cohesive narrative. This unique collaboration between man and machine invites audiences to witness the seamless synthesis of soul, ingenuity, and innovation.

About Huang Yi:

Huang Yi is a Taiwanese dancer, choreographer, inventor, and videographer renowned for his pioneering work that explores the partnership between humans and robots. Named one of Dance Magazine’s “25 to Watch,” Huang’s work has been celebrated globally, including performances at the Ars Electronica Festival in Austria, TED Conference in Vancouver, and venues across Australia, the Americas, Europe, Asia, and the UAE.

Also part of our Future Earth Fall Series, Huang Yi will join visionary artist Natasha Tsakos in the Art, Tech, and the Future of Human Expression talk at this year’s Miami Book Fair on November 23rd. Together, they will explore the intersection of technology and creativity, offering insights into how art can push the boundaries of human expression in a rapidly evolving digital world.

Live Arts Miami proudly celebrates its 35th anniversary this fall, marking over three decades of boundary-pushing performances and community engagement. To honor this milestone, the organization is unveiling its “Future Earth” fall season—a visionary lineup that explores the intersection of art, innovation, and climate awareness. Featuring captivating performances, a Future Earth Artist Fellowship Residency with multi-disciplinary artist Natasha Tsakos, and curated educational engagements, the season invites audiences to reimagine our planet’s future through the lens of creative expression.
