Live Arts Miami is pleased to introduce Oil Ancestors: Metaphysical Hotline, a one-of-a-kind, immersive telephone theater experience designed for an audience of one, by Miami-based interdisciplinary artist and LALA artist in residence, Fereshteh Toosi.

Metaphysical Hotline seeks curious, open-minded volunteer participants for a research study about power and responsibility in an era of rapid global change.

Our intimate telephone consultations require your active participation and undivided attention. Your efforts will support ongoing research about at-home ancestral transmissions.

Apply by May 23rd at 11:59 PM by completing the pre-performance questionnaire. If you are chosen, you will receive a text message to confirm your appointment time on May 24. Those who are not accepted into the program at that time will be contacted if availability opens up.

Metaphysical Hotline is the latest in interactive time travel—an intimate conversational performance about the health of our planet, inspired by The Work that Reconnects by Buddhist eco-philosopher and author, Joanna Macy.

The first step is to complete the online pre-performance questionnaire. If you are chosen, you will be scheduled for a 30-40 minute, one-on-one phone call from the comfort and privacy of your home. 

Given the intimate and immersive nature of the performance, participation is limited to 24 one-on-one performances scheduled from 4 to 8 PM (EDT) on select dates between Wednesday, June 9 and Sunday, June 20, 2021. 

Please choose a time when you can take a phone call from a comfortable room where you can have some privacy. We recommend your bedroom, but any secluded, quiet space works well.

To be considered for participation, you must apply by May 23, 2021 at 11:59 PM (EDT) by completing the online, pre-performance questionnaire. 

At Metaphysical Hotline we leave nothing up to chance and we trust the Universe to decide. Participants will receive a text message with an invitation to confirm their appointment time. 

Our interactive time-traveling technology is suitable for time-travelers 15-years or older.

Your experience during Metaphysical Hotline is strictly between you, the Medium, and the Universe. The phone conversation is live and it will not be recorded.

 The Universe works in mysterious ways. We thank you for your contribution to the questionnaire. All responses help us to expand the Metaphysical Hotline research archive. If appointments become available due to cancellations, you may be contacted after the 24th.
