Experience the Sacred Sound of Qawwali

Live Arts Miami’s MUNDO Live Music Series welcomes The Saami Brothers, among the world’s foremost Qawwali practitioners, for an evening of Sufi devotional music at the Miami Beach Bandshell.

Carrying an unbroken musical lineage nearly 800 years old from Karachi, Pakistan, the Saami Brothers are hereditary musicians of the Qawwal Bacha Delhi Gharana, founded by 13th-century mystic and poet Amir Khusrau. Through hypnotic rhythms, soaring vocal improvisation, ecstatic call-and-response, and centuries-old poetry, Qawwali reaches toward wajd – a state of spiritual ecstasy and transcendence.

Performed under the open sky at the Miami Beach Bandshell, the evening invites audiences to listen deeply and experience a musical tradition in which gathering itself becomes part of the performance.
