People walk past ruins in the Culmer section of Miami on May 19th, 1980, after rioting over the acquittal of four police officers charged with the 1979 beating death of Arthur McDuffie, a black motorcyclist. (1)

Florida is a tinderbox, with 46 fires burning across the state.

More than half of the fires are south of the I-4 Corridor in Orlando. Those 29 fires have burned more than 4,000 acres.

One fire in northern Indian River County is so bad, parts of Interstate 95 have been shut down. The forest service ranks fire danger on a 1 to 5 scale with 1 being low and 5 being extremely high.

The entire state falls into a scale of 2 to 4. All of Miami-Dade and half of Broward is ranking very high with May 21, 2021. (3)
