CREATIVE FITNESS FOR CURIOUS PEOPLE

Live Arts Labs Alliance (LALA) is Live Arts Miami’s artist development and creative community program, creating opportunities for artists, makers, and creatively curious people to gather, connect, build their creative practice, and make new work. Through artist-led workshops, works-in-progress, commissions, and relational projects, LALA invites people to exercise their creative muscles, encounter new practices, exchange ideas, and connect with one another.

Rooted in exploration and process, LALA is a space where creative practice is strengthened, new approaches are encouraged, and new work can develop.

LALA is built around process rather than perfection. Whether you’re developing a new work, encountering a practice for the first time, looking for creative community, or curious about what happens when people make things together, there is a place for you here.

Monthly artist-led workshops. Free and open to the community.

Once a month, on Sundays, LALA Open Studio invites an artist to lead an afternoon of creative exploration at the Koubek Center. Each gathering offers a different entry point into artistic practice – from movement, performance, writing, sound, and storytelling to unexpected forms of making and experimentation.

You don’t need to be a professional artist or arrive with a finished idea. Come curious, participate at your own pace, and meet others through the act of making together.

LALA Works in Progress gives Miami-based artists an opportunity to develop new work with mentorship, peer exchange, and direct audience feedback.

Selected artists share projects while they are still taking shape – creating room for experimentation, questions, revisions, and discoveries before the work reaches its final form.

LALA commissions local artists to create original work for Live Arts Miami programs, performances, and public activations.

Current opportunities include commissions for Open City, Live Arts Miami’s public space performance festival in Downtown Miami, where selected artists develop new work in dialogue with the city, its spaces, and its communities. Please find the call for application below.
