Colombian cumbia takes over the Garden

Live Arts Miami’s MUNDO Live Music Series comes to the Miami Beach Botanical Garden with Colombian accordionist and cumbia master Yeison Landero, known as “El Heredero de la Cumbia” [“The Heir of Cumbia”].

The grandson and musical heir of legendary accordionist Andrés Landero, “The King of Cumbia,” Yeison carries the tradition of Colombian cumbia sabanera into a new generation. From his hometown of San Jacinto, Bolívar, to performances at the Hollywood Bowl, The Ford, and Kennedy Center, he has emerged as one of cumbia’s foremost contemporary ambassadors.

The evening opens Live Arts Miami’s 2026-27 season, The Art of Gathering – an invitation to come together through the arts and shared experience. With live performances, social dancing, food, drinks, and local vendor activations unfolding throughout the lush setting of the Garden, come ready to move, mingle, and stay awhile.

Joining Yeison is Miami’s Sonora Tukukuy, bringing their Brave New Cumbia to the Garden, alongside an all-vinyl set by Moonbeam Mike spanning Latin, tropical, and global sounds.
