LALA WIP is a performance platform spotlighting raw, real, and radical works-in-progress.
An extension of Live Arts Labs Alliance (LALA) – our monthly, community-driven program that nurtures local creatives – LALA WIP gives artists a dedicated space to develop, experiment, and share new work with peers and audiences.
This process-accelerated platform provides artists with structured feedback sessions, mentorship, an honorarium of $1,000, and a supportive community, culminating in a public performance with audience feedback at the Koubek Center. LALA WIP encourages interdisciplinary, interactive, site-specific, immersive, or otherwise unconventional works that challenge traditional audience-performer relationships.
Now in its second iteration and fully funded through community support, LALA WIP offers a nurturing, low-tech environment where artists can midwife their projects into life. The program takes place across various spaces at the Koubek Center, including the theater, mansion, studios, and outdoor grounds.
Artists: Apply by Feb. 28 to share your work and engage in this unique feedback-driven development process.
Audience: Reserve your spot for the final public performance on May 2 and experience these works-in-progress firsthand. You’ll also have the chance to give feedback to the artists – a great way to actively participate in shaping the work!
