Ya Habibi:The Story of a Song

From the trail-blazing dancer-producers behind the award-winning documentary “Havana Habibi” comes the new documentary film Ya Habibi, The Story of a Song” a moving and timely exploration of the hidden ties that bind two cultures across difference, and a celebration of the music that unites us.

What do the Cuban and Arab diasporas have in common? Eight musicians and one dancer come together in Miami to find the answer, creating a performance of a song that was adored by both cultures. Separated by 90 years and 11,000 miles, this song taps into the sentiments of loss and love felt across generations by all those who live outside of their home country.
